We’ve chosen some of the best restaurants in Abuja which are great for either Valentine’s Day, a first date, a quiet and romantic weekend brunch or a special anniversary.
For each restaurant, we highly recommend booking a table ahead of time, so you have one less thing to worry about.
There are very few places where you can get sweeping views of Abuja and still relax with your loved one whilst sipping a pina colada. The Rooftop Lounge located at the Summerset’s latest boutique hotel in Asokoro tops that list easily. The incredible ambience combined with amazing customer service sets its apart.
Vanilla Restaurant & Lounge by Edoro Abebe is an old favorite in Abuja. The attention to detail is fully reflected in the lovely decor dotted around the restaurant. The relative size and coziness of the restaurant provides a lovely romantic ambience. The extensive menu caters to all taste buds – so it’s sure to please everyone.

Nkoyo is an impressive fine dining restaurant that serves beautifully cooked local cuisines using traditional fresh herbs and spices. It’s almost like an extremely sophisticated bukka joint with a pleasing ambience and decor! The top notch customer service will put your mind at ease. This is one spot that is always guaranteed to impress any date in Abuja.
One of the hidden gems in Abuja serving an extensive menu of French and African cuisines. Led by Le Cordon Bleu trained Chef Victor, the food is simply amazing and, to be honest, this is somewhat reflected in the pricing. In addition to the lovely decor, the service is on point.

Located in Mabushi, BluCabana is definitely not the easiest place to find. BluCabana is a purpose built lifestyle club which includes a beauty lounge, swimming pool, Lebanese restaurant, as well as a children’s playroom. As a result, it is a great spot for couples who have children and still want to have some sort of romantic meal.

The Clubhouse is tucked away in the TAK Continental Estate, near Life Camp. This is another lifestyle club which features a restaurant with a gym and swimming pool. The beautiful African-themed decor and playful ambiance makes The Clubhouse a great place for a romantic date.

A bourgeois boutique café hidden in Wuse 2. We love the interior Parisian décor which is very inviting. This cozy quaint romantic spot specializes in gourmet burgers, desserts and coffees. If you’re looking for a chill, “let’s just keep this between us” type of restaurant, you found it!

Wakkis is the #1 Indian Restaurant in Abuja. The open kitchen setup at Wakkis beams the rich flavors of classic Indian dishes. If your date is a fan of Indian food, or just a fan of Bollywood movies, then look no further.
Located in the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Zuma is one of best steakhouses in Abuja with an extensive wine list. We particularly love the view overlooking the fabulous water fountain displays. This is a romantic “go to” restaurant for Valentine’s Day in Abuja if you have money to spend. Especially if you’re spending it with a member of government. (Shhhh we won’t tell.) Afterwards, head to Capitol Bar for your night cap.
Papillon, located in Abuja’s Sheraton hotel, has one of best fine dining buffets in the city (we didn’t think that was really possible until now). If you want to fully enjoy the romantic ambience which Papillon has to offer then aim to get one of the best seats, which are next to the stunning greenery and water fountain. The buffet at Papillon is very popular, so we highly recommend booking a table ahead of time.

Woks and Koi, located in Silverbird Centre, CBD is a great spot for pre-movie dinner date. The upscale casual restaurant serves a variety of specialty Chinese dishes designed to take you through an unforgettable culinary journey. If you want to truly impress your date and show her that you have been to “the abroad”, then ditch the fork and stick to chopsticks! If Silverbird in CBD is not appealing, try the alternative location in Wuse 2.

Brought to you by the team behind Mama Cass, Nouveau is a wonderful union of fine dining and swallow without compromising either. If your date wants more, the menu extends beyond the African hot pots to include delicious fusion of Italian / American cuisines. After dinner, head to the rooftop lounge for nice night-cap.

Da Maria is more of a proper Italian restaurant than just a pizza place – hope that paints the right picture. As a result, the pizza selection is very traditional, as originally intended by the Italians. Nevertheless, it’s a great, cozy spot to have a romantic dinner for two in Wuse 2.

The Secret Garden is located inside Riverplate Park and is rumored to have the best pizza in Abuja. Mix that with the airy green garden, live music and karaoke; very quickly the Garden becomes a fun spot for a romantic date night.

Ivory Room is a relatively new concept in Wuse 2 providing delicious continental culinary experience, through a fusion of exotic flavors from Americas, Iberia and the Mediterranean. Start the evening with dinner and end the night with a few drinks in the sky lit terrace overlooking the Abuja.

This is the best burger joint in Abuja. If your date is really into American culture, or you just want to pretend like you’re abroad, head to this All-American diner for its look and feel, along with the great service and food.
