Whatever your idea of having fun is, we have something for everyone on our comprehensive list of the best spots in Lagos to host your next party.
Casper & Gambini
1089 Agoro Odiyan Street, Victoria Island // Ikeja City Mall, Ikeja
Depending on where you want to have a party in Mainland and Island, Casper & Gambini got you covered. Casper & Gambini opened shop in 2016 in Victoria Island with comfortable love sofas, perfect interior décor (likely influenced by the Italian origins) and very attentive staff. The menu is extensive with sandwiches, handcrafted burgers, salads, pizzas, tasty desserts – providing plenty of options that are great for sharing. The cocktails at the bar is also legit. Casper & Gambini now has an outpost in Ikeja City Mall which has already become a popular destination with the Mainland crowd and the terrace has good energy and exuberant atmosphere – try to keep up. Definitely take advantage of the terrace for an imitate birthday party. Both Casper & Gambini locations can host groups as small as 15 to full-blown celebrations of up to 100 guests.
Spice Route
36 Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island
Spice Route feels like a pan-Asian restaurant with a vibrant club-lounge space – that’s exactly. The whole setup has wow-feel to it and each element of the décor is unique with terracotta warriors leading to a huge stone Buddha which anchors the venue. This is clearly where the cool kids hang out – although there is now some competition from the newly opened Spiro Lagos which has a similar decor concept. The menu here is inspired by Indian and Chinses cuisines with plenty of options that are great for sharing. There are two lounges: one on the ground floor and another on mezzanine. Both lounges are great spaces to host small or large parties.
The Winehouse Lounge
19A Mekunwen Road, Ikoyi
Winehouse Lounge is a beautiful space in Ikoyi with a charming lounge space against the backdrop of a art collection by Bruce Onobrakpeya and a lovely garden surrounded by palm trees. The comfortable seating is made from a clusters of transformed wine barrels that have been neatly varnished and polished. The array of deliciously prepared grilled options along with an affordable extensive wine list makes this lounge the ideal location for a boozy birthday celebration.
Rhapsodys
Ikeja City Mall, Ikeja
The South African funky bar import with two locations in Lekki and Ikeja is a safe choice. We really loved the VI location which closed recently. The remaining two locations have kept the cosmopolitan and elegant décor with its signature bar at the centre which has come to define Rhapsody. The space is well suited for a celebration – the food is ok but the extensive menu of cocktails and wines more than makes up for the pedestrian culinary experience. On most night, there is a DJ supporting you as dance the night away.
Hardrock Café
Water Corporation Road, Landmark Center, Victoria Island
Hardrock Café is split into three levels in the restaurant area with a lovely beachfront and swimming pool outside. As a result, no matter where your birthday group is seated: you can enjoy live music, cold drinks, and an unforgettable experience with the beautiful waters of the Atlantic Ocean as the perfect backdrop. The classic menu at Hardrock Café centred on the “share-able” American cuisine (think mouth-watering mini-burgers and baby ribs) is what has made this franchise world famous. Either way, the outcomes are same – all it takes is a Burger and Manhattan cocktail to feel the American dream in Lagos. The restaurant itself can seat over than 200 guests and for the beachfront seating, be prepared to spend at least N100,000 – depending on the size of the group, that should not a problem.
Bottles
8 Imam Agusto Close, Victoria Island
Bottles is not going to be the best Mexican food you’ve ever had however it tastes good enough, the service is friendly and margarita here is legendary (definitely ask for a pitcher). The menu has a core Tex-Mex element featuring fajitas, tacos along with burgers and steaks. Bottles is fun and inexpensive place which is perfect for an easy birthday night out with friends. On Tuesday nights, there is bottomless beers and unlimited chicken wings. The happy hour on Friday is equally appealing; get a free margarita when you order dinner or free large margarita pitcher when you order dinner for 4 people.
Nok Garden
12A Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria Island
Nok by Alara remains one of the most popular restaurants in Lagos making it a natural choice for a birthday celebration. The even better option is using the Nok’s outdoor area which features an artistic bamboo-framed beer garden with handmade thatched chairs. The Nok Garden has everything you need: a tapas-style menu that is consistently delicious and great for sharing as well as the affordable unconventional cocktails which are fun and tasty.
La Veranda
17 Oju Olobun Street, Victoria Island
La Veranda at BlowFish has a few things going for it – good Italian food, a patio, and a pleasant space. The decor is artistic, interspersed with mirrors overlooking the hotel’s swimming pool. The Italian food here is great and the cocktails are very yummy; making La Veranda a perfect location for a girl gang birthday celebration.
